En dat betekent natuurlijk dat er iets nieuws op de naalden moest... Goed nieuws voor mama! Begin maar te sparen voor een vakantie in Cornwall, als je wil dat ik hem in Land's End overhandig.

Patroon: moet ik nog kiezen. Garen: Frangipani 5-ply Guernsey, 100% pure new British Wool in de kleur Amethyst. Naalden 2.5mm, rondbrei-naalden. Voor de gepaste dichtheid van een traditionele gansey moet ik uitwijken naar 2mm op lange naalden zonder knop. Maar dan duurt het weer zoveel langer met zoveel meer steekjes, dus mocht ik iets losser breien van mama.

En wat breien jullie dit najaar?

Swatch ("pretend to knit in the round"-style) for a gansey.

Pattern: I still have to choose. Yarn: Frangipani 5-ply Guernsey, 100% pure new British Wool in the colour Amethyst. Needles: 2.5mm circulars. I can only achieve the appropriate density of a traditional gansey on 2mm double pointed needles. But that takes a lot more stitches to knit an entire gansey, and takes more time. Mum said it was ok to knit a looser fabric.
